PhD student at the University of Cambridge, working on machine learning for atomistic simulation in the group of Gábor Csányi. His current research is focused on improving foundational machine learned potentials by incorporating long-range physics and electric field reponse in a principled way.

Thomas visited the Persson Group in Berkeley from June-December 2026, as part of the Winton exchange program.

Prior to his PhD, he studied Physics at the University of Manchester, where he was awarded a first class degree and the Tessella prize for best use of software in an MPhys project. During the summers, he completed an internship as a software engineering with Frazer-Nash consultancy and participated in PRACE Summer of HPC, implementing parallelised Hamiltonian Monte-Carlo with Anton Lebedev at the Hartree Centre.
